Changes at The Moor of Rannoch in 2020

After 7 years we are making some changes please read below to find out what we are doing.

Over the last 7 seasons the Moor of Rannoch Restaurant & Rooms has grown and evolved from the business that Scott & Steph walked into back in 2013.

We now welcome over 2,500 guests each season and there is now a team of nine staff to look after everyone.

The Moor of Rannoch is our home and we love welcoming guests to stay with us however the logistics of operating 7 days a week have now become unrealistic. Living on site mean that we are up to prepare breakfast from 6am and often finish at 1am the following morning having to try and catch up on jobs well after dinner service has finished and our guests are in bed.

Monitoring valued feedback and reviews, it is clear that the overall experience of visiting Moor of Rannoch is a major draw to our guests. Many of our guests both new and returning value the personal interaction with us as business owners, however the increasing demands on the business mean that we have less time available to spend with our guests.

It is our intention for our 2020 season onward to only open the business 5 days per week but also to extend our season.

The improvement and stability of working hours on both us as owners and the fixed working days for our staff will not only create a better working environment but will also allow us as a team to focus on what really matters to you our guests, the personal experience and warmth of hospitality that draws you to Rannoch Moor in the first instance. It is imperative that we retain this core value while progressing our business.

Rooms Available – Thursday to Monday

Our five rooms are available to book on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday nights.
Unfortunately we do not offer accommodation on Tuesday or Wednesday nights.

Please note: Departure on Tuesdays must be by 3pm.

Rooms are priced per night, based on one OR two people sharing and includes breakfast.

Low Season – 6th February to 16th March – £180.00
High Season – 19th March to 19th October – £195.00
Low Season – 22nd October to 23rd November – £180.00

All prices include VAT at 20%

Cancellation Policy
Full prepayment of accommodation is required at time of booking.
In the event of cancellation out with 21 days prior to the arrival date, the prepayment will be refunded less an administration fee of £20 per booking.
In the event of cancellation within 21 days of the arrival date, the prepayment will be non-refundable.
By making a booking you agree to the conditions of the cancellation policy.

Restaurant – Dining Experience

Dinner Available – Thursday to Monday
Open to Non-Residents – Reservations Essential

We automatically reserve a table for all guests staying with us.
Non-Residents are welcome however reservations are essential due to our limited capacity and remote location.

Dinner for our 2020 season will consist of a seven course dining experience priced at £49 per person.

Over the years that we have been here, it is clear from our guest feedback that most of our diners come to the Moor of Rannoch as a special treat and are looking for a complete evenings experience based around Steph’s fantastic cooking.
We have decided to alter our dinner offer slightly to give us more opportunity to showcase the fantastic produce that we have available to us and we are also working to bring more from our kitchen garden and also the edible parts of Rannoch Moor into our dishes!

Offering a fixed price menu gives us the ability to accurately forecast our food costs and also allows you our guests to know what to expect in advance, we do not charge any supplements or attach any extra charges. Courses and portion sizes are designed to be enjoyed.
