Come and eat atMOOR OF RANNOCH
*** CLOSED to Non-Residents ***
(you can still book a room to stay & dine with us)
Unfortunately due to Covid-19 restrictions we have taken the hard decision to close our restaurant to Non-Residents.
We hope at some point during our 2021 season that restrictions will allow us to welcome back Non-Residents.
Why not come and stay instead to enjoy the comfort of our rooms and a fantastic dinner experience?
Dinner served – Thursday to Monday from 6.30pm
Closed – Tuesdays & Wednesdays
The Moor of Rannoch ONLY serves dinner and is not open during the day.
Non-Residents are welcome each evening from 6.30pm
(Bookings are essential due to our remote location and limited capacity)
Tables are reserved automatically for all of our guests when rooms are booked.
Like everything else at the Moor of Rannoch, dinner is not a rushed affair. Since we only set each table once our guests can relax and dine at their own pace. The evening begins with drinks in one of our lounges with a range of Scottish gins & beers or a glass of wine from our carefully selected list.
The menu changes every single day with a real focus on seasonal Scottish produce which is sourced from a number of local suppliers. Browse the menu and order from the comfort of the lounge before moving to the restaurant with views across Rannoch Moor. During dinner keep an eye out for some of the local wildlife wandering past. Red Deer, Pheasants, Hen Harriers and even Golden Eagles can often be seen.
Once dinner is over, retire to the lounge for tea or coffee with a selection of over one hundred of Scotland’s finest malt whisky’s. There is also a complimentary Scottish cheese board for all of our guests to enjoy at 9pm. Depart on Rannoch’s “Dial a Bus” service or for those lucky guests it is just a short climb up the stairs to one of our rooms.

Wonderful On Every Level July 2019
From the moment we left the Dialabus taxi from Kinloch Rannoch to 10pm when we left we were spoilt. Sumptuous and no I don’t use the term loosely food, great wine, whiskies and gin. Looked after immaculately by Steph, Scott and the rest of the team. In those immortal words, we’ll be back!
TripadvisorIdeal for a memorable evening October 2019
This place is way off the beaten track - we used the brilliant local pre-arranged taxi service so we could both drink with our meal. The experience is what it's all about, this is the first dining experience I have enjoyed in the company of wild red deer outside the restaurant window and it is probably the most ruggedly impressive landscape through which I have been driven to reach the restaurant.
TripadvisorWorth the journey May 2019
We have been visiting this restaurant every year when we are up in Scotland pretty much since Scott and Steph took it over and it just gets better and better every year. This year we had the best meal we have had all year with gorgeous fresh ingredients from local suppliers and delicate flavours. Steph and her team excel in the kitchen and Scott is brilliant at front of house. The addition of the kitchen garden is a masterpiece.
TripadvisorAmazing June 2019
This is an exceptional place to stay. Scott and Steph are brilliant hosts. So knowledgable about their produce and surroundings. Steph produces the most amazing food I can’t even describe how good it is. I was a bit sceptical about no Wi-fi and no tv but the surroundings are like your own personal Springwatch episode.
