Exceptional dining in exceptional surroundings Our 2 AA Rosette RESTAURANT
Our aim is to provide delicious dishes which showcase the best local and seasonal Scottish ingredients, including produce foraged around the Rannoch area and from our own kitchen garden.
Our seven course menu is changed daily highlighting the produce that we have available and to ensure that there is always something new for our guests to try. The menu consists of a choice of starter, main course and dessert as well as a number of taster dishes from the kitchen.
There is also the option of Eteaket tea or Glenlyon coffee served with our home-made petit fours. To round off the evening there is a selection of Scottish cheeses served alongside homemade oatcakes and chutneys.
“Perched high on the moor and the ultimate in hiking getaways. The views are delightful, the whole place has a serene feel and wildlife is in abundance.” (MICHELIN Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2019)
Come and stay in our DELUXE ROOMS WITH A BEAUTIFUL VIEW
Each of our five en-suite rooms have stunning views across Rannoch Moor and Rannoch Station. Savour the opportunity to gaze across the ever changing wilderness and look out for a train trundling past on the magnificent West Highland Railway. Our rooms offer the perfect retreat to unwind and relax while enjoying the best of Highland Scotland. The lounge areas are exclusively for the use of residents during the day offering you the chance to escape with a good book or even to tackle the communal jigsaw.
“Talk about Off the beaten track!, Scott & Steph’s little jewel of a hotel stands at the end of the road, amid a vast moorland wilderness.” (The Good Hotel Guide, 2018)
Lack of connectivity “OUT OF OFFICE”
Due to the remote area and distance from our “local” phone exchange means that there is no broadband/WiFi signal available. The result is a different pace of life must be adopted. Our lounge areas are full of books and board games and there is always a communal jigsaw on the go. Our guests find themselves interacting more with each other and the random conversations, often over a few whisky’s can draw on long into the evening. There is also no TV or Radio signal in Rannoch Station so short strolls around the area or even just gazing out of the windows watching the local wildlife that wander past becomes the norm. Guests often comment on the “silence” of the area and enjoy long walks where they won’t see another soul. The arrival of each of the days eight trains becomes a highlight and guests often become “Train Spotters” as they trundle past across the Moor. Life slows down in Rannoch safe in the knowledge that “Out of Office” really means that you can not be contacted. Just don’t think about the number of emails building up in the in-box!
“There is no wifi or tv but you may see one of the many deer walking past or the sun setting, so just relax and enjoy the ambience.” (Tripadvisor, April 2017)
