Once dinner is over, retire to the lounge for tea or coffee with a selection of over 140 of Scotland’s finest malt whisky’s. Depart on Rannoch’s “Dial a Bus” service or for those lucky guests it is just a short climb up the stairs to one of our rooms.

The menu changes every single day with a real focus on seasonal Scottish produce which is sourced from a number of local suppliers, our own kitchen garden and also foraged from the surrounding landscape. Rannoch Dial-a-Bus Service
If you are staying elsewhere in the Rannoch area then leave the car at home and book the fantastic Dial-a-Bus service. The fares are roughly £3.50 per person for each journey and Scottish National Entitlement Card Holders travel free.
The service works like a taxi and will collect you at your accommodation at the requested time and transport you to the Moor of Rannoch. The service operates Monday to Saturday, 7.00am to 10.00pm
Dogs & bikes can be transported if required, please arrange this at the time of booking.

Childrens Policy
Our restaurant is not huge.
It sits 18 people or so comfortably, in a relaxing and intimate space, with views across the unique wilderness of Rannoch Moor, where we serve delicious food & drinks to guests that are looking to escape, relax & unwind.
We welcome well behaved children to our restaurant but don’t offer a children’s menu as such. Children up to 12 years old can eat from the evenings menu at a 50% reduction of the price and, where possible, portion size.
All of our guests have traveled a long way to reach Rannoch Station and for some it will be a once in a lifetime experience to witness the stunning scenery, wildlife and remoteness of Rannoch Moor.
To show consideration to all guests we therefore ask parents to ensure their children remain seated and well behaved (not shouting, screaming or running around the restaurant) throughout the course of their meal. Since hot food, liquids and glassware are being carried to the tables, the safety of both the waiting staff and your children is very important to us.
On the very rare occasion when the enjoyment of our other guests is being compromised we will have to get involved, which can be awkward for all concerned. We would much prefer not to!
Many of our younger guests love their experience with us, are excited about the surrounding environment and the chance to try Steph’s delicious cooking, however the existence of our Children’s Policy is borne out of the reality of experience.

Important Information
Group Sizes
Maximum Group Size – 6 Guests
(For larger Groups with Room reservations we will accommodate your group at one table)

Dietary Requirements
If we are not notified of any dietary requirements for your table, we may not be able to cater for you on the evening.
Our small restaurant only has Steph in the kitchen. Creating a new 7 course menu each day for 18 guests means that we are are preparing and plating over 125 dishes each evening.
While we try to accommodate as many dietary requirements as possible, we are unable to cater for guests who require a strict Dairy / Lactose free or Vegan diet. As our menus do contain dairy throughout and it is a fundamental part of our cooking.
With notice we can cater for most dietary requirements. If you wish to discuss any dietary requirements before making a booking, please feel free to email us and we can advise accordingly.

Outstanding in every respect
Absolutely outstanding in every respect. The whole ambiance, welcome, the rooms and the food all in a class of their own. Delightful couple who have huge talent but extremely humble about it. True dog friendly with towels in the porch, beach walk, bed and toy at the table everything you could want!

Just perfect
So lucky to visit this hotel with friends as a special birthday celebration. Food was probably the best we have had in a hotel - the flavours and attention to detail were second to none . The sun shone all weekend , the rooms were very comfortable and the hotel staff were warm and welcoming . The surrounding area is breathtaking with lots of lovely walks available . Can’t recommend this hotel enough - visit if you can!

Best hotel I've stayed in for a long time
Situated in the middle of the wilderness of Rannoch Moor this is a wonderful place to spend some time. I took the sleeper train from London and was met at the station by Scott & provided with an excellent breakfast. Very quiet spot and a beautiful room with views over the moor, perfect location if you like wide spaces & mountain scenery and the food is magnificent. Steph is a brilliant cook.

Amazing
This is an exceptional place to stay. Scott and Steph are brilliant hosts. So knowledgable about their produce and surroundings. Steph produces the most amazing food I can’t even describe how good it is. I was a bit sceptical about no Wi-fi and no tv but the surroundings are like your own personal Springwatch episode.

Our new favourite place to stay
Dinner at the Moor of Rannoch is an experience. The food is of such a high standard that each night we felt a tremor of excitement upon opening the menu to see what delights were in store for us. The quality of the ingredients, the presentation & the blend of perfectly balanced flavours were consistently superb, all served up in a relaxed & friendly atmosphere. Steph is an incredible and creative chef and is clearly passionate about everything she creates.
